Big Finish’s “Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor Adventures”

The Ninth Doctor is back for three new adventures.

After two volumes released in May and August 2021 respectively, the Ninth Doctor is back in Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor Adventures – Lost Warriors.

In these all-new stories, the Doctor will travel from Scotland during Lady Macbeth’s time to Berlin in 1927 and the filming of a sci-fi movie.

Christopher Eccleston is back as the Ninth Doctor. He is joined on Lost warriors by Annette Badland (Mrs. Goose), Peter Bankolé (Dieter Jovanovic), Nicholas Briggs (Cyberman), Helen Goldwyn (Anna Dreyfus), Neve McIntosh (Gruach) and Nick Wilton (Fritz Lang).

The set is directed by Barnaby Edwards and produced by David Richardson. The synopsis of the three stories is available below:

3.1 “The hunting season” by James Kettle

Duberry Hall is under siege, as aliens roam the area. It’s a frightening case, and as Lord Hawthorn fights the Fleshkin, the Doctor finds new friends under the stairs. Can he convince the household to unite to save themselves?

3.2 “The Curse of Lady Macbeth” by Lizzie Hopley

The TARDIS is once again drawn to Scotland – to the troubled kingdom of Moray and its queen Gruach. Or, as the Doctor knows her best, Lady Macbeth. While some believe that she is the cause of the misfortunes of her people, she could yet become their savior.

3.3 “Monsters in Metropolis” by John Dorney

Berlin, 1927. The making of a science fiction legend. But death lurks on the set, and the story isn’t what the Doctor expects it to be. And this new ‘Machine Man’ is a more terrifying vision of the future of humanity than the one Fritz Lang had in mind …

Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor Adventures – Lost Warriors is available for purchase from the Big Finish website as a download, CD box, or limited vinyl edition. Listeners can also save money by purchasing all of the Adventures of the Ninth Doctor in one bundle.
