Exciting PlayStation 5 Update Skips PS5 Game Downloads | Games | Entertainment

Sony has confirmed that its next exciting feature PlayStation 5 will arrive in 2022 and is designed for next-gen gaming.

This is great news for owners of PlayStation 5 consoles, as there are still a minimal number of next-gen games and experiences to enjoy on their shiny new consoles.

Leaving the PS4 behind gives Sony a lot more power to play around with creating new features, including for games and the platform itself.

And the next big download for gamers on PS5 is expected to be a new tournament feature, something the system has been missing since its launch.

The news was shared by Jim Ryan of PlayStation, who shared a few important updates during CES 2022, revealing: “This year we also plan to introduce a new tournament feature on PS5.”

Unfortunately for us, it wasn’t clear when this new feature would arrive, but it looks like it will be on the way in the coming months.

Ryan also shared some exciting news regarding the number of next-gen projects underway for the PS5, adding:

“In the PlayStation Studios family, we now have a total of 17 studios.

“And we look forward to seeing these teams shine as they unleash their creative talents and bring their own sense of innovation to our premier portfolio.

“The innovation on PlayStation 5 also extends to the experience of the platform itself. And in its first year, we’ve already added new features to the console, such as 3D audio to the TV speakers and game sharing between PS5 and PS4.

“This year, we also plan to introduce a new tournament feature on PS5. Innovations for us on PlayStation also mean that we will lead the way in exploring new technologies that unlock new entertainment experiences.”

So not only are new features in the works for the PS5, but there are also a lot of irons in the fire that could use a new tournament system.

We’ll have to wait and see what’s on the cards for the next PlayStation 5, with events like E3 expected to boost announcements from big developers.

And new revelations have already started, with Sony confirming its intention to launch a new PlayStation VR headset.

It’ll be called the PS VR2 and offer a massive upgrade from the original.

One of the first games announced for PSVR2 is Horizon VR: Call of the Mountain, which will be experienced via a new character and a ton of new features that fans can enjoy in virtual reality.

The official announcement explains, “Created for PlayStation VR2, this unique experience was designed to push hardware technology, innovation and gameplay. Stunning visuals and all-new PS VR2 Sense controllers bring a whole new meaning to immersing yourself in the world of Horizon.

“We don’t want to reveal too much just yet, but this story will be told through the eyes of a brand new character. You’ll also meet Aloy, other familiar faces, and new characters along the way, and we’ll soon introduce you to the protagonist of Horizon Call of the Mountain.
