Gareth Edwards’ Wild Welsh Adventures visit Tenby and Manorbier this week
Welsh rugby legend Gareth Edwards and his wife Maureen can be seen celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary in Pembrokeshire on screen this Tuesday 2 November.
The couple star in Gareth Edwards’ Great Welsh Adventure on BBC One Wales and in the second in the series they visit the Tenby area for their celebrations.
While staying at Manorbier Castle, Gareth and Maureen – who first met at the age of 11 – are heading west for a busy weekend to a place close to their hearts.
Speaking in the episode, they said; âIt’s our 49th wedding anniversary so to mark the occasion we are visiting Dinbych-y-pysgod, Tenby; somewhere that is very special for both of us.
âWe came here for the first time on school trips, but have been back with the family several times since then.â
It’s a wildlife weekend for childhood lovers who start the celebrations with a boat trip around Caldey Island to see some incredible marine life, but it’s clear Gareth’s photography skills aren’t not as good as his skills in the field.
Back on dry land, the couple try their hand at guarding the zoo where they get up close and personal with rhinos and tigers.
They end their trip with a Malaysian meal on the beach prepared by an award-winning local chef, where Gareth gets some great tips on how to cook his favorite cuisine.
* Gareth Edwards’ Great Welsh Adventure is Tuesday November 2 on BBC One Wales at 8:30 p.m.
