Krishify surpasses 1 crore in app downloads on its farmer-centric social network
The social network started as a basic app with crop Q&As and multimedia features to share content related to agriculture and ancillary activities. Gradually, the app evolved into a social media platform allowing farmers to connect with other farmers from other geographies and engage in peer-to-peer trading of livestock and tractors. The agritech organization’s user acquisition strategy, which is a mix of organic and paid media efforts, has helped it attract users (farmers) at breakneck speed.
Krishify Founder and CEO, Rajesh Ranjan said, “From the start, we realized that our strength lies in digitally acquiring farmers who are already exposed and comfortable with the use of smartphones and mobile devices. social media. This guided us to selectively contact them across multiple digital channels for the purpose of installing our app. User acquisition is half the battle won, we also devote our energies to retaining users by deploying behavioral science tactics. Ultimately, the goal remains to help farmers solve their agricultural problems and provide them with a level playing field to connect with various agricultural stakeholders.
With the recent fundraising backed by venture capitalists such as Omnivore, Omidyar Network, Ankur Capital, and Orios Venture Partners, Krishify has so far raised $6.5 million. The agritech startup intends to expand its user base to become a PAN India social network for farmers and integrate multiple regional languages into its app.
