Minecraft Dungeons’ Fauna Faire update brings four-player co-op to its roguelike mode next week

Action-RPG Blocky Minecraft Dungeons sees the arrival of Fauna Faire, its third seasonal update, on October 19. Today’s Minecraft Live stream showed off more of what to expect from the new season of Minecraft Dungeons, including four-player multiplayer for the tower, a new merchant that handles enchantments, and a new biome level from the free jungle. I just love the look of mob-themed onesies, personally.

Matthew (RPS in Peace) thought Minecraft Dungeons was a missed opportunity at launch.

Fauna Faire gives you the chance to play the game’s Game-Of-Death-esque Tower mode with friends for the first time. Four-player co-op is coming to the tower, adjusting the difficulty based on how many people climb its floors. Three new floors are coming in the update, and two new bosses in the forms of Tempest Golem and Ancient Guardian. Each player will receive an individual reward for completing the tower.

The Fauna Faire update also adds a new merchant, the Enchantsmith. You can find this boy in Highblock Halls, and he will move into your camp if you save him. He can randomly re-enchant your gear, though doing it repeatedly with the same gear will increase the cost a bit. This update also features a new free level, Treetop Tangle. It will feature three new pieces of gear, and this is the first time the jungle biome has appeared in the game outside of paid content.

As the name suggests, Fauna Faire focuses on monsters from Minecraft Dungeons. You’ll be able to dress your character in mob-themed skins, such as the aforementioned onesies, and collect pets and other cosmetics. Fauna Faire introduces new monsters, ranging from red pandas and skunks to two types of penguins. Some of them were taken from Minecraft Earth.

The Minecraft Dungeons Fauna Faire update is coming October 19, so not long to wait. You can grab the game from Steam or the Microsoft Store, and it’s also part of PC Game Pass.
